NATIONAL APWU 19TH BIENNIAL CONVENTION DELEGATES APPROVE INCREASE IN RETIREES PER CAPITA EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY, 2009

SPECIAL BULLETIN: CONSTITUTIONAL RESOLUTION NO. 11 TO INCREASE RETIREE PER CAPITA FROM $2.00 TO $3.00 MONTHLY FOR OVER 40,000 APWU RETIREE DEPARTMENT MEMBERS WAS APPROVED BY OVER TWO-THIRDS (2/3) MAJORITY OF THE ELECTED DELEGATES AT THE 19TH NATIONAL APWU CONVENTION IN LAS VEGAS, NV. ON WED., AUG. 20, 2008. THIS INCREASE SHALL BE EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY, 2009.

The Resolved reads as follows, "Resolved, amend Article 3, Section 4 (e) to increase retirees per capita by one (1) dollar per month, this increase to be passed on in whole to existing local and state retiree chapters where they now exist or may be organized in the future. Where there are no retiree chapters in existence, the one (1) dollar increase shall be retained by the Retiree Department in an organizing fund to be disbursed solely for organizing activities by the Retiree Department.
