2003 STATE RETIREE CHAPTER SPRING EVENTS!

APWU OF FLORIDA STATE RETIREE CHAPTER SPRING EVENTS!

An APWU of Florida State Retiree Chapter Dutch treat luncheon is to be held in Lakeland, Fl. from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2003, at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel Restaurant, 4141 South Florida Ave. 33813 to celebrate our good fortunes in being APWU alive! John R. Smith, Director, National APWU Retiree Dept., is our invited guest speaker, and he will address 2003 retiree issues for APWU active postal workers who are still employed by USPS and APWU retirees with Q & A.

All active and retired APWU members, Auxiliary, and family/guests are invited to attend this luncheon to renew old acquaintances and meet new friends. Free APWU Retiree Happy folders will be given to all attendees. Dream a little and become part of the action!

The APWU of Florida Spring Seminar occurs Thurs., March 20 thru Sat. March 22, 2003 at the same hotel, and this creates a wonderful opportunity for the active stewards and officers of Area Local/Local unions to meet and talk with APWU Retirees who fought the battles to form our great labor organization in the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s. We are looking forward to reminiscing with APWU active members and Retirees in Lakeland!

All 2376 APWU of Florida Retirees who pay $24.00 year National APWU Retiree union dues are now being mailed their personal copy of the Florida Postal Worker monthly, thanks to the actions by the APWU of Florida State Retiree Chapter Executive Board at the Retiree Convention in May, 2002 and the APWU of Florida Executive Board approval in September, 2002, led by President Martha Shunn-King.
Thanks to George Curcio, Editor, Florida Postal Worker, for his help. Drop a note to George if you enjoy reading the award winning newsletter. Let the good times roll and share your inspirations with other APWU survivors. If you move, mail him your old and new address!
