READY TO RETIRE-CONTACT LITE BLUE AT U.S.P.S. TO GET ANSWERS BEFORE YOU RETIRE 2009

Access to the U.S. Postal Service's employee website, LiteBlue, has been enhanced to provide detailed retirement information for the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS), CSRS Offset, and the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS)
*
Each topic is segmented, so employees can go directly to the issue of interest to them. A workbook including charts and examples for each segment is available for download or review online. This tool offers employees flexibility to access retirement and benefit information on various topics 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
*
In addition, a program to provide "Financial Literacy and Education" has been designed to assist employees with planning future retirement goals.
*
Before you retire, you are entitled to a one-on-one meeting with a U.S.P.S. Human Resource person to discuss your retirement and answer any questions you may have. Do NOT allow Postal Personnel/Human Resources to tell you that you can't have this meeting. You have worked for the Postal Service for many years, not only have you earned this, you are entitled and deserve it.
*
If you plan to have health insurance through your retirement, you must have been an active participant in any Federal Employee Health Benefit (FEHB) plan for five (5) years prior to your retirement.
*
Additionally, if you are a Veteran, please check with your local Veterans Organization to see if there are programs out there to assist you in retiring and to ensure that you get everything you are entitled to.
