BROTHER JOHN SARDIN, JR., DEVOTED APWU UNIONIST PASSES, PLEASE SHARE YOUR CONDOLENCES AND MEMORIES TO JOHN'S FAMILY!

SARDIN, John Jr. 88, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2011 with his family by his side. Born in Cannonsburg, PA, he came here in 1950. He graduated in 1943 from University of Pittsburgh and served in Army during WWII. He retired in 1989 after 43 years of service with Federal Government, 7 years with United States Treasury Department and 36 years with United States Postal Service. He was a past president of the Son's of Italy. He was an active member of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) AFL-CIO Local 1228, Florida Suncoast APWU Retiree Chapter and APWU National Postal Press Association. He was a member of St. Jude Cathedral. He enjoyed world languages and travel. JOHN IS A DEAR PERSONAL FRIEND AND VETERAN, MAY HE REST IN PEACE, SOLIDARITY FOREVER! He is predeceased by his brother, Peter Slade. He is survived by his Wife of 53 years, Mary C.; sons, John and Philip, of St. Petersburg; a brother, Anthony Billotti of Darlington, PA and nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1800 12th St. N, St. Petersburg on Thursday, March 31st at 10:30 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Suncoast Hospice or your favorite charity.
