It is the responsibility of our Union, specifically our Stewards, to protect and represent our many employees when management oversteps their bounds. The State provides the training your Stewards need in order to fight this type of behavior. We have this training scheduled coming up in April.
*
This training seminar will be held on the 4th, 5th and 6th of April, 2013 in Jacksonville. The Secretary / Treasurer training will be held in conjunction with our seminar on the 6th,7th and 8th of April, 2013.
*
Stewards and officers please make your reservations early to prevent any issues with running out of rooms. We expect a large turnout from both the state and from around the nation. Thanks also goes out to the general membership for supporting your stewards with this training.
*
One class will be of particular interest to all Union members. We will have a class on Federal Benefits on Saturday the 6th. We have a large number of employees from around the state that will retire on January 31st. There are a great many of us that wish we had planned better during our earlier years so that we could have been among those retiring.
*
This class will cover some of those planning tactics that we need to prepare ourselves for when that time comes for us. Anyone interested in this class should contact me or keep checking the state website (apwuflorida.org) for updates. In Solidarity,
*
